Iridacée brooch, 2016

Cartier loves flowers, above all flowers full of personality. Among them, the orchid and its seductive mysteriousness, from fragility and power, to delicacy and danger. Cartier’s master of glyptic art created this flower from raw amethyst. Glyptics? The art of engraving and carving hard stones and fine materials. Cartier is one of the only Maison’s to practise this almost extinct art form with the mission to pass it on to its apprentices. Mounted on white and yellow gold and paved with diamonds, this flower brooch reveals a 0.81-carat pear-shaped bright yellow diamond pistil.
