THE CARTIER STYLE ET LUXE AT THE GOODWOOD
FESTIVAL OF SPEED, 2016

As Goodwood opens its doors to over 200,000 spectators at the annual Festival of Speed and Moving Motor Show at the end of May, discerning motoring enthusiasts will be making a beeline for the Cartier Style et Luxe Concours d’élégance on the 26th of June – which has become a ‘must see’ attraction at Goodwood.

The Cartier Style et Luxe Concours d’élégance is a celebration of fine automotive design where the extremely diverse vehicles presented always manage to create amazement. The concours now in its 21st edition echoes Cartier’s values of innovation and creative design.” Observes Laurent Feniou, Managing Director of Cartier UK.

Established in 1995, the Cartier Style et Luxe has now become one of the most internationally respected concours d’élégance. Every year a different theme is chosen and this year theme “Full Throttle – The Endless Pursuit of Power” will see the distinctive and sought-after cars competing for seven categories as well as the coveted Overall Winner award. Past winners have included the 1969 Aston Martin DB6 Volante which the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge drove away in after their wedding in April 2011 and the futuristic 1953 Alfa Romeo BAT 5 Bertone.

Every year the Cartier enclosure at Goodwood is able to create an atmosphere like no other where current champions, such as Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg mix with legends such as Sir Jackie Stewart, Sir Sterling Moss. “Since awards are given according to design excellence rather than on restored condition, we choose our judges among eminent personalities from the creative industries. We are delighted that this year’s panel of discerning judges includes Mark Newson, sir Jonathan Ive, Lapo Elkann and Flavio Manzoni.” Comments Laurent Feniou Managing Director of Cartier UK.
